treatments
The treatments we offer at Live Well Active Therapy are all about YOU and what YOUR NEEDS are. We are a group of trained therapists collaborating together for YOUR BEST OUTCOME. At Live Well one of our therapists will assess your needs and discuss a treatment plan that best suites your needs. It may include one or many of our services. We believe that your best outcome comes from choosing the right clinic not the right service. Getting to the place of pain-free and active is a JOURNEY and sometimes that JOURNEY includes more than one modality or service. Let us work together to help you discover your BEST YOU!
Massage
Therapy
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy can be an important part of your journey to wellness. Massage Therapy has been shown to decrease pain, and stress, improve range of motion and posture as well as aid in healing injury to soft tissue.
Massage Therapy can be implimented for increased overall wellness, sports injury, traumatic injury, postural misalignment, repetitive strain injury, poor body mechanics or pain from day to day living.
Massage is performed on a massage table either clothed or covered with sheets (only the effected area being treated is uncovered).
athletic
Therapy
Athletic Therapy
Athletic Therapy is the treatment of Musculoskeletal issues and conditions using various treatment modalities, very similar to that of Physiotherapy.
It is a common misconception that Athletic Therapists only work with athletes; however, the goal of athletic therapy is to facilitate a client’s desire to return to their desired activity level.
The Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) is the certifying and governing body for Certified Athletic Therapists practicing in Canada.
laser
Therapy
Low Intensity Laser Therapy
Laser Therapy offers patients a safe and effective therapy for a wide range of medical conditions, including soft tissue and sports injuries, wound healing, dermatological conditions and a variety of musculoskeletal problems.
The technology utilizes superluminous and laser diodes to irradiate diseased or traumatized tissue with photons. These particles of energy are selectively absorbed by the cell membrane and intracellular molecules, resulting in the initiation of a cascade of complex physiological reactions, leading to the restoration of normal cell structure and function. Thus regeneration of tissue and decreased inflammation in the area being treated. More info.
shockwave
Therapy
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy accelerates the healing process in the body by stimulating the metabolism and enhancing blood circulation to regenerate damaged tissue. Shockwave technology delivers strong energy pulses that are applied to the affected area for short periods of time. This stimulates cells in the body that are responsible for bone and connective tissue healing. In many instances, shockwave therapy treatments, have proven to be effective in cases where the human body has not been able to heal itself on its own.
Shockwave therapy produces an acoustic pressure wave that is transmitted to the body’s tissue. The pressure wave created at the point of contact transmits radially inside the patient’s body. This reduces the aherence of connective tissue allowing elastic tissues like muscle to glide past each other.
